The incubator is one of the most important equipments in assisted reproduction laboratories because here is where embryos are developed at different evolutionary stages. Physiologically the female reproductive tract has a low tension of oxygen (5-7%), with levels of certain pH, reason for which have been set up incubators that maintain the same characteristics in the culture media to ensure an embryonic development similar to the physiological environment.
Today in IVF Panama Reproduction Center, we count with one known as Triple Gas incubator of last generation. It has a mixture of gases (5% or2, 6% CO2,and 84% N2), addition it has small individual compartments, this will allow embryonic growth in an isolated and controlled manner, avoiding fluctuations in temperature and gases that occurred with the ancient incubators.
We also acquired a Laminar Flow Chamber with plate illumination of last generation, it is a workstation where the embryologist performs the manipulation of gametes pre-trial procedures, in a controlled microenvironment of temperature, gases (CO2) and free of microorganisms that may alter the results of assisted reproduction procedures.
From the implementation of these equipments, we have seen an increase in our evolutionary pregnancy rates, up to 80% in women under 35 years (10/12) and an increase of 10% in those over 35 years of women.
